Shaping the Women of the Year Awards: From concepts to celebrations
The Challenge
As a key sponsor and creative partner, our team were excited to play a major role in making the Women of the Year Luncheon & Awards (WOTY) a success. We eagerly tackled all aspects, from branding and design to managing table and raffle sales, all while ensuring the finances were in good shape.
Our Approach
Working alongside the team at WOTY to understand their requirements and priorities, we were involved from the get-go in promoting the event, from social media and website updates to liaising with sponsors and site visits.
As the day approached, we were involved in the judging day capturing content of the finalists which was broadcast on the big screens at the awards. We also put together the judges’ packs and handled communications for those who weren’t selected, doing so with care and respect.
We took great pride in crafting the event programme to clearly communicate the day’s agenda and celebrate the incredible achievements of all the nominees. We also collaborated with a local artist to design stunning individual trophies that truly honoured each winner.
In the lead-up to the event, we organised seating arrangements and collected dietary preferences to make sure everyone was well taken care of.
The Brand
We gave the brand a fresh new look to match the exciting move to a new city and venue. The iconic ‘W’ has been elevated to represent the brand, keeping a nod to our heritage with the addition of the 1982 date, which can also be updated with the awards year.
Our colour palette has been sharpened to a true black and deeper yellow for better contrast, especially in digital formats. We retained the original Butler font while introducing Scandia for body copy and modern headlines, creating a sleek, complementary style.
We also designed unique logos for each individual award to enhance the overall brand experience. Once approved, we updated the website with the new identity and handled printed materials for the event.
The Impact
On the big day, our team was busy transforming the main room at the Etihad and ensuring everything came together perfectly. We managed the luxury raffle, drawing winners and sharing the exciting news with them. Throughout the whole process, we maintained strong communication with all sponsors, showcasing their commitment to the awards.
Our hands-on approach helped create a memorable celebration of women’s achievements, a cause that’s very close to our hearts at Strategi and something we’re very proud of!
