SWITCH is a free, confidential service providing support for young people under 18, ensuring they have a safe space to access guidance and assistance in relation to sexual violence.

The Challenge

The previous Youth Support Service, “Talk to Sal,” was established after COVID with a broader purpose relating to supporting mental health needs. As the post-covid needs of the client base changes, Savana were keen to return to their core activity of supporting survivors of sexual violence. To address these issues, we collaborated with the team to create SWITCH—a new, meaningful brand that stands for “Start With I, Then Change Happens.”

Our Approach

We focused on developing a fresh and clear identity for the service, ensuring it resonated with the young audience while emphasising empowerment and transformation.

The service provides support to children aged 11–16 in a school-based setting, with a specialist website SOS (SWITCH Online Support) providing an online chat and text platform, giving young people a confidential way to reach out for support around issues relating to sexual violence.

We created a bold new logo and brand identity for SWITCH, using vibrant neon colours paired with black and white accents, and playful, quirky fonts. This design approach ensures the brand stands out and appeals to a younger audience, capturing their attention while conveying a sense of energy and empowerment. We then presented our concepts across various marketing materials, such as pull-up banners, booklets, social media assets and keychains.

Based on the approved concept, we designed and built a new website for the service: switchwithsavana.org.uk, offering an easy-to-navigate platform for young people to access help.

The Result

The brand successfully established a clear, accessible, and meaningful service for young people to access support and guidance, helping to make a real difference in their lives.

The team at Savana have been working closely with schools to educate and promote the service to students aged 11–16 using the new identity, ensuring the message reaches the young people who need it most.
